If you replaced a wheel, tire, TPMS sensor etc. and are now getting a warning light on your car, then the sensor needs to be reset. Depending on your vehicle model, here are a few ways to reset the TPMS Tire Pressure Sensor Light on 2008 2009 2010 2011 Chevy HHR:

For 2008-2010 Model Year

You don’t need a tool to reset TPMS on an old Chevy HHR (2008 2009 2010). Here’s how to do it:

  • Stop the vehicle in a safe place and turn the engine switch off and engage the parking brake.
  • Turn the ignition to the ON position without starting the engine.
  • Press and hold unlock and lock buttons on the Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) transmitter until horn sounds
  • Increase/ decrease tire pressure for 10 seconds, starting from the driver’s side front tire (LF) until horn sounds.
  • After horn sounds, proceed to the right (passenger’s side) front tire, and repeat the procedure in step 3.
  • Next, proceed as in step 3 for the right (passenger’s side) rear tire and then left (driver’s side) rear tire.
  • After hearing the confirming horn chirp for the left rear tire, turn ignition to OFF position. Adjust all tires to pressure listed on tire placard.

For 2011 Model Year

To relearn or reset the Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) sensor on your 2011 Chevy HHR you must have a TPMS relearn tool and follow these steps:

  1. Turn the ignition to the ON position without starting the engine.

  2. Press and hold unlock and lock buttons on the Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) transmitter until horn sounds

  3. Starting from the driver’s side front tire, place the relearn tool against the tire sidewall, near the valve stem. Then press the button to activate the TPMS sensor.

  4. Repeat the procedure on the right-front tire, the right rear tire, and the last one left rear tire.

  5. A horn chirp confirms that the sensor identification code has been matched to this tire and wheel position.

  6. Turn the ignition off and start the engine to verify the indicator has been reset.

  1. Whoever gave these HHR instructions never actually did the reset on a HHR. The HHR doesn’t have a MENU button the turn signal lever.
