2001 Dodge Ram 1500 Engine Oil Lubrication System Diagram – Lubrication system is one of the major systems on the machine, which is a series of tools ranging from the storage of lubricating oil, oil pump, oil pipelines and lubricating oil pressure setting so until the parts that require lubrication. The workings lubrication system of the Dodge Ram 1500 is, the pump will draw oil from the sump at the rear of the oil pan through the screen and the inlet tube. Then the oil will be driven into the drive and idler gears and pump body, and then forced through the outlet to block.

Oils that are on the channel block oil will flow into the inlet side of the full-flow oil filter. After passing through the filter element, the oil passes through the center of the outlet filter through which oil gallery oil ducts to the main gallery, which extends the entire length of the right side of the block. Then the oil will go down to the main bearings, and back to the left side of the block, and into the oil gallery. Gallery will extend down from the main oil gallery to the upper shell of each main bearing.

Hydraulic valve tappets will receive oil directly from the main oil gallery. Camshaft bearings will get the oil from the main bearing gallery. With over camshaft sprocket, the front camshaft bearing journal passes oil to the timing chain. The oil channel will return to the oil pan under the main bearing cap. Hydraulic valve tappets also supply oil to the rocker arms and bridged pivot assemblies. Then oil will lubricate the rocker arm valve train components. Then the oil will go down through the pushrod guide and the oil drain holes that exist in the cylinder head, valve tappet passing through the area, and ends on the oil pan.
