Chevy Corvette: Easy Way To Reset Oil Life/Oil Change Light (1997-2022)

Good day everyone! In today’s post, do you know what happened? I just got in my car and wanted to drive, but I thought to look at this oil change soon. So I need an oil change, and every time the engine oil has to be changed, you must reset the oil life light on this Chevy Corvette.
General Motors even sent me a friendly reminder to my phone to ensure I did it. So it’s time for an oil change and now let’s do it ourselves to save some cash.

Easy Way To Reset Oil Life/Oil Change Light On The Chevy Corvette
Warning! Please note your vehicle model. This tutorial will hold true for the C5/C6/C7/C8 Chevrolet Corvette (1997 1998 1999 2000 2001 2002 2003 2004 2005 2006 2007 2008 2009 2010 2011 2012 2013 2014 2015 2016 2017 2018 2019 2020 2021 2022 model years).
Corvette C5/C6 (1997-2013)
It’s regarding how to reset your oil life monitor on your C5 and C6 Corvette. It’s real simple literally takes ten seconds.
- First, turn the ignition switch to the on position
- Basically, all you have to do is use your TRIP button and it’ll bring it to OIL LIFE REMAINING screen
- Then all you have to do is push and hold that RESET button and it’ll reset to a hundred percent
Corvette C7 (2014-2019)
- First, turn on your car, start it or not it doesn’t not matter
- Then go ahead and click the ◄ left arrow button and the main menu going pop up
- As you can see on the left side all these then you can scroll down up and down until you highlight INFO and click SEL
- After that, scroll up or down until you find the OIL LIFE
- To reset it all you do is press the SEL button and hold it until you hear the beep and the percentage should turn to a hundred
Corvette C8 (2020-2022)
Time needed: 3 minutes
Now we’ll do the oil service reset procedure on the 2020 C8 Corvette. We’ll use the thumbwheel on the right side of the steering wheel; it’s going to go through the dash menus. So let’s try to do it.
- Start your car
The vehicle actually has to be running in order to do this. So you’re just gonna put your foot on the brake and press the start button
- Clear any message
Then you’re going to dismiss any message by clicking on the thumbwheel
- Go to the MAINTENANCE
Next, it’ll the menu will kind of be colored and you just scroll left or right until you get to MAINTENANCE
- Press the thumbwheel
When you come to the Maintenance screen, you’re gonna click on the thumbwheel
- Click on RESET ENGINE OIL
This is where you’ll go in and reset your Engine Oil or transmission fluid. It’ll highlight this RESET ENGINE OIL because it’s gonna be the first option there, so you just click on the scroll button again
- Select YES
After that, it’ll ask you if you want to reset the engine oil reset and then hit YES and you’re done
