Last Updated on August 1, 2021 by Christ
It has been 30 years since the last Jeep Wagoneer, the iconic woody that would take you and your entire family and your entire friends to school, and now there’s a brand new one. That’s right, it is the all-new Jeep Grand Wagoneer, and in this post, I will show you how to reset the oil life or oil change light.
So I just got my oil changed, and when I did, the dealership forgot to reset my oil change required indicator on the dashboard. Because I’m lazy to go back to the dealer, then I will reset it myself. So without wasting any more time, let’s go ahead and get right to it.

Jeep Grand Wagoneer Oil Life/Oil Change Light Reset Guide
Warning! Please note your vehicle model. This tutorial will hold true for the fourth generation of the Jeep Grand Wagoneer WS (2021, 2022 model years).
Gas Pedal Method
This is actually a faster way to reset oil life in Jeep Grand Wagoneer. Just by hitting your GAS pedal to the floor 3 times within ten seconds after turn the key to the Run position. It should reset the oil life and now I should not have an oil change required message.
Steering Control Method
Time needed: 3 minutes
In this chapter, you’re going to use the left side steering wheel multifunction buttons to navigate, and ok is your enter button to reset the oil life on Grand Wagoneer. So I’m going to try to do it now, see if I can make it work.
- Put the key in and get the ignition on
First, the ignition will be on the RUN position but don’t start the engine. So press the Start button twice without step on any pedal
- Go to the VEHICLE INFO
Then you’re gonna scroll up or down until you get to Vehicle Info
- Find the OIL LIFE
Next, you’re gonna scroll to the right until you see the Oil Life
- Hold down OK
There’s gonna be an OK button right here on the steering wheel. So we’re just gonna hold it down and the oil life will reset to 100%
