2007-2012 Ford Ranger TPMS Light Low Tire Pressure System Reset – The Ford Ranger is a vehicle name that has been used for three different model series of pickups by the Ford Motor Company. Originally, the name used by the short-lived Edsel Ranger, and later it refers to a specific styling version of the Ford F-series has been sold in North America between model years 1965 and 1981. Ford Ranger named rediscovered in 1982 for the 1983 model year of a compact pickup for North America and later parts of South America.

Since 1998, Ford started to market a separate Ranger model internationally. Ford, the US version of the Ranger design and development, manufacturing and in January 1982 began for the 1983 model until production ended in December 2011. Ford has its North American model of 1995 exported to Latin and South American countries, but as demand increased, it was later produced in its plant in Argentina.

If you receive a low-tire-pressure monitoring system (TPMS) warning light while driving and you want to clear or turning off the warning light on your 2007 2008 2009 2010 2011 2012 Ford Ranger, follow these instructions:

  • Make sure the vehicle is at a complete stop
  • Turn the engine switch off
  • Adjust the tire inflation pressure recommended on the tire placard located on the door panel.
  • Driving for a few miles (kilometers), calibration will complete after 2 minutes of cumulative driving at 20 mph (32 km/h).

Time needed: 17 minutes

If you replaced a wheel, tire, TPMS sensor, etc. and are now getting a warning light on your car, then the sensor needs to be reset. For that you need to purchase the correct TPMS reset tool and follow these instructions:

  1. Stop the vehicle in a safe place and turn the engine switch off and engage the parking brake.

  2. Press and release the brake pedal.

  3. Turn the ignition from OFF to ON position three (3) times ending in the on position without starting the engine.

    If your car has a Smart key button, press once to turn on, then press again to put the vehicle into ACC mode, then press again to turn the vehicle off. Repeat 2 more times, ending in ACC mode.

  4. Press the brake pedal again for 2 seconds, then release.

  5. Turn the ignition to OFF position (DO NOT remove the key)

  6. Turn the ignition from OFF to ON position three (3) times ending in the on position without starting the engine.

  7. If the reset mode has been entered successfully, the horn will sound once.

  8. Starting from the driver’s side front tire, place the relearn tool against the tire sidewall, near the valve stem. Then press the button to activate the TPMS sensor.

  9. Repeat the procedure on the right-front tire, the right rear tire, and the last one left rear tire.

  10. A horn chirp confirms that the sensor identification code has been matched to this tire and wheel position.

  11. After hearing the confirming horn chirp for the left rear tire, training is completed and a message is shown in the information display. Turn ignition to OFF position. Adjust all tires to pressure listed on the tire placard.
