Reset Guide: Toyota Corolla Oil Maintenance Light (2003-2022)

How’s it going, everybody? Today I want to show you how to reset oil maintenance required light on a Toyota Corolla. This light comes on when your vehicle is due for an oil change.
So when you turn on the car, you’ll see that the light is continuously on without going off if you don’t reset the light. What happens is that every 5,000 miles, you have to reset this light in order for that light to go away. So let me show you what it’s doing.

Warning! Please note your vehicle model. This tutorial will hold true for the ninth, tenth, eleventh, and twelfth generations of the Toyota Corolla (2003 2004 2005 2006 2007 2008 2009 2010 2011 2012 2013 2014 2015 2016 2017 2018 2019 2020 2021 2022 model years).
2003-2008 Corolla
- First, put your key in the ignition and you’re gonna turn it on. Just turn to the on position, don’t turn the engine on
- Then you’re gonna make sure that your odometer here is set to the ODO
- Now what you’re gonna do is turn the car back off or turn it off
- After that, you’re gonna put your finger on the ODO/TRIP button and push it down while turning the ignition to the on position again
- Keep holding it until it blinks to all zeros and then you’ll see the light turn off
2009-2017 Corolla
With Cluster Button
Time needed: 3 minutes
In this chapter, I will show you how to reset the maintenance required light in a 2010 Toyota Corolla. This method actually works in most models of Toyota’s car. So now all you need to do is:
- Switch the key on
You not gonna hit the brake at all and I’m just going to press the button twice to turn on the ignition
- Get to the TRIP A
Then I’m gonna hit the ODO/TRIP button on the dash until I get to the TRIP A
- Turn off the ignition
Now I’m gonna turn the car off
- Hold down the TRIP button and turn on the ignition
After that, I’m gonna press and hold the TRIP button while I turn it back on to accessory mode
- Keep pressing the Trip button
Keep holding the TRIP button and you will see your reset maintenance data and the countdown five to zero. Once it does the light will go out and you’re ready to go
With Steering Button
- Stick the key in and turn it to the on position
- With a car on I’m going to set up the odometer to the TRIP A by using the TRIP or DISP button on the steering wheel
- Once that is set up in your car, you’re going to turn it off
- The next step is you’re going to turn on your car without cranking the car and at the same time you’re going to push the TRIP or DISP button
- Keep hold it and wait until all those bars disappear and it’s blink to zero and once it does the light goes out
2018-2022 Corolla
- Without your foot on the brake press the push the START button two times to turn on the ignition
- Once you’re in accessory mode you’re gonna use the arrows on the steering wheel to go over to the ⚙️ SETTINGS
- Once you’re in the settings option you’re gonna arrow down to VEHICLE SETTINGS and then hold down the center button
- From there, you’re gonna go into SCHEDULE MAINTENANCE
- At this point, it will ask you for a reset data, go up and select YES and reset will be complete
