Reset Guide: Kia Soul Oil Service Light (2014-2021) – The Kia Soul is a compact crossover with the raised body made by the Korean car manufacturer Kia Motors since 2008. The American model went on sale late as the Model Year 2014 vehicle and offered the 1.6-litre Gamma GDI 132-horsepower 2.0-liter Nu GDI 166-horsepower petrol engines.
The third generation is presented at the Los Angeles Motor Show at the end of 2018 and sells globally at the beginning of 2019. The main novelty is adopting the new modular base platform common to the Hyundai Kona designed to adopt both internal combustion engines and electric engines.

Reset Guide: Kia Soul Oil Service Light (2014-2021)
The service light will appear each time you turn on the ignition when your vehicle exceeds the specified service interval. You must adjust the service interval after performed maintenance on your vehicle. Depending on your vehicle model, here are a few ways to reset the oil light on 2014 2015 2016 2017 2018 2019 2020 Kia Soul:
2nd Generation (PS; 2014-2019)
The second generation of Kia Soul was marketed from 2014 to 2019. In this older generation you can reset the service light as follows:
- Place the ignition to the ON position without starting the engine
- Go to the ⚙️ USER SETTINGS mode by pressing the ❐ MODE button repeatedly
- Select SERVICE INTERVAL by using the ▼ button
- Make sure to activate the service interval function by select ON
- In this menu you can set a maintenance reminder at a specific interval by adjust the Milage or Period
- Use the ▼ button to change the digit value. Press the ⏎ button to confirm the changes.
3rd Generation (SK3; 2020-2021)
Time needed: 7 minutes
This is the third generation introduced from 2020. Similar to the previous generation, you can access service intervals through the User Settings menu. Here’s how to do it:
- Place the ignition to the ON position without starting the engine
If your vehicle has the keyless starting system, press the ENGINE START/STOP button twice without pressing the brake pedal
- Go to the ⚙️ USER SETTINGS mode by pressing the ❐ MODE button repeatedly
The button is located on the steering wheel
- Find and select SERVICE INTERVAL
Use the navigation switch to scroll and press OK button to enter the menu
- Make sure you activate the service interval function by giving a check mark
In this menu you can set a maintenance reminder at a specific interval by adjust the Time or Distance
- Use the navigation switch to change the digit value. Press the OK button to confirm the changes.
