Howdy, Chevy fam! How are you? The Chevrolet HHR is equipped with an oil life monitoring system, and in this post, we’ll show you how to reset it. This is a great feature to give you a general idea of when to change the oil, but this is not always 100% accurate.

Easy Way To Reset Oil Life On 2006-2011 Chevrolet HHR
Now to reset the engine oil life system is what we’re going to do here. This is going to be on a 2010 Chevrolet HHR here but it will be the same in several different years (2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011).
Gas Pedal Method
- First, flip the key to the on position without actually starting the vehicle
- After that, depress the ACCELERATOR pedal in three times within five seconds and that will reset the counter
- Now you can start your vehicle like normal and as you can see it shows oil life has been reset to 100% on the screen
Steering Button Method
Time needed: 3 minutes
In this chapter, we’ll try to reset the oil life by using the buttons on the steering wheel. So let me do that right now.
- Turn the key on
The first step is to switch on the ignition without starting the engine
- Press the INFO and the ⏎ buttons
After that, you need to press the INFO and the ⏎ buttons on the left steering wheel at the same time, and you will be able to access the customizing options
- Find the OIL LIFE RESET screen
When you come there, hit the INFO button to navigate through the various customizing menu options until you see OIL LIFE RESET on the screen
- Hold down the ⏎ button
Once you get that screen, you press and hold the ⏎ button until the driver information center displays ACKNOWLEDGE, which signifies that the system has been reset
