2002-2008 Mazda 6 Timing Marks Diagram (3.0 L MZI V6 Engine) – The Mazda 6 or Atenza is Automobile of tourism of Segment D produced by the Japanese manufacturer Mazda since 2002. The first generation was officially presented at the Tokyo Motor Show 2001 and released to the public in May 2002. It was placed second in the competition Car of the Year in Europe in 2003. Diesel is 2.0 liters and is offered in variants of 121 or 143 hp, both with common-rail turbocharger and intercooler variable geometry direct injection. All engines are four cylinders in line and four valves per cylinder, except the 3.0-liter, which is a V6.

Because of a lack of clearance, this procedure is very difficult with the engine installed in the vehicle. Adding to the difficulty of the job is the fact that there is no Top Dead Center (TDC) timing mark on the crankshaft. This makes it tricky to align the camshaft sprockets to the crankshaft. The number one piston should be at Top Dead Center when the crankshaft pulley keyway is at the 11 o’clock position.
