Lexus NX: How To Reset Oil Maintenance Required Light (2015-2021)

The Lexus NX is a mid-size luxury crossover SUV on the market since 2014 produced by the Japanese car manufacturer Lexus. This car is offered with two types of engines: hybrid or with an internal combustion engine. In this post, I want to share how to reset oil maintenance required light on Lexus NX, whether it’s NX300, NX300H, or NX200T.

I have to change the engine oil on my Lexus NX, so now I’m going to go ahead to reset the oil maintenance system. There are two different lights on when you start up the car, there’s one oil maintenance required, and the other is maintenance required; they’re two different lights.

How To Reset Oil Maintenance Required Light On Lexus NX

Warning! Please note your vehicle model. This procedure applies to the first and second generations the of Lexus NX (2015 2016 2017 2018 2019 2020 2021 model years).

For NX300 NX300H

Time needed: 3 minutes

In this chapter, we’ll reset the maintenance light after the oil change on the Lexus NX 300H. And we’re going to be using the controls here on the right-hand side steering wheel to do this. So the first we’re going to do is:

  1. Turn on your car

    Step on the brake and start the car up

  2. From the main menu, go to the ⚙️ SETTINGS

    Use the right or left buttons on the steering wheel and you’ll see on the top of the screen between the gauge cluster as gave you a ⚙️ gear icon

  3. Scroll down to the VEHICLE SETTINGS

    So next we’re going to go ahead and push the up or down button until we get to Vehicle Settings

  4. Press the center button

    Push and hold the center button to enter the menu

  5. Select OIL MAINTENANCE or SCHEDULE MAINTENANCE

    Highlight maintenance and press the middle button to select

  6. Select YES

    When a confirmation comes up, select YES to execute the maintenance data reset

For NX200T

  • Turn on your vehicle
  • Go to the ⚙️ SETTINGS tab menu
  • Once you’re on the settings tab, scroll down until you get to Oil Maintenance
  • Press the center button to enter the menu
  • Then what its gonna ask you is “reset data?, select YES to execute the maintenance data reset

Reset Via Navigation Display

Apart from going through the cluster screen, you can also reset the maintenance light through the menu in the navigation screen. Here’s how to do:

  • Turn on your lexus
  • Press MENU button on the center console

  • Highlight and enter to the SETTUP menu
  • Navigate to the VEHICLE and then MAINTENANCE
  • In this menu there are several maintenance items that you can set the interval or just reset it
