Jeep Grand Cherokee Timing Marks Diagram (4.7 L Engine) – The Grand Cherokee is a high-end off-road type car produced by the US car manufacturer Jeep since 1993, and is currently in its fourth generation. In 1999 the next version was introduced, the WJ with 4.7l V8 Powertech engines of about 245 hp and 3.1 Turbo Diesel 5 cylinders in line, again from VM Motori, which was none other than the previous unit (2.5 TD of the ZJ) with the addition of a cylinder, equipped with 140 HP.
Unfortunately, even the 3.1 was afflicted by the same problems as the predecessor. Between the end of 2001 and the beginning of 2002, the 3.1 VM was replaced by the 2.7 CRD of Mercedes origin, capable of 163 hp and coupled to a Mercedes automatic transmission, the 5-speed NAG. In practice, it was the same unit that also equipped the Mercedes ML 270 CDI. It was also presented an enhanced version of the 4.7 V8 Powertech, called High Output and capable of 265 hp, standard offer with the Overland outfit and as an option on Limited.
