Good morning trucker! In this post, I will show you how to properly reset the oil life in your Chevrolet Avalanche with the Vortec 5.3 engine. This is a 2010 Avalanche, but this should be applicable with any Chevy or GMC with the 5.3 engine.

With Gas Pedal
Alright, this guide gonna be a quick fast, and safe way to reset your oil in all models of Chevy Avalanche (2004 2005 2006 2007 2008 2009 2010 2011 2012 2013). So what you want to do is:
- So first, turn the truck on but do not start it up
- Then you’re gonna pump the GAS pedal three times and make sure it goes all the way down to the floor
- Now you can start up your car to prove to you that it works

We have verified that one, but we wanted to give you the other method in case our method didn’t work. We had researched this concluded our Chevy Avalanche oil reset. So the way you do this is:
- Turn the key on
Grab your keys and turn the car on
- Get to the OIL LIFE screen
Then you’re gonna be using the Vehicle info button which has the car with the information symbol and you’re gonna go ahead and press that to scroll over to where you get to the Oil Life
- Hold in the ✓ button
Next, you’re gonna do is go ahead and hold down the ✓ checkmark button all the way down until it resets to a hundred percent and you’re good to go
