Reset Guide: Pontiac G8 Oil Change Light Oil Life (2008-2009) – The G8 is a full-size sedan produced by Pontiac from 2007 to 2009. The G8 was a four-door rear-wheel-drive sedan assembled by Holden, an Australian subsidiary of the General Motors group.
It was launched in early 2008 for the 2008 model year in the United States and 2008 for the 2009 model year in Canada. It was taken off the market in mid-2009 following General Motors’ decision to suppress the Pontiac brand.

- Place the ignition to the RUN position without starting the engine
If your vehicle has the keyless starting system, hold down the ENGINE START/STOP button without pressing the brake pedal
- Fully depress the GAS pedal, three times within 5 seconds
Don’t rush, make sure you press it fully
- Turn off the ignition
Press the ENGINE START/STOP button once
- Verify the indicator has been reset by starting the engine
