How’s it going, guys! Today we have a 2018 Toyota CHR. As you know, it’s like a crossover-type vehicle, and we are done with some basic maintenance. We’ve changed the oil and filter, so now we’re resetting the maintenance service light on this Toyota CHR.
Anyway, you don’t have to be afraid of that light. You may see this every five thousand miles or ten thousand miles that depend on the engine oil and depend on your driving style. So let’s jump into this and see how it’s done.
How To Reset Maintenance Service Light On Toyota CHR (2018-2021)
Time needed: 3 minutes
Inside a 2019 Toyota CHR, I will show you how to reset the maintenance required light that comes on for oil maintenance and reminder stuff like that. So let me show you what it’s doing.
- Put on the ignition
If you have a START button, you’re gonna press it twice without putting your foot on the brake pedal
- Get into TRIP A
Then we’re gonna want to get it into TRIP A. So you cycle through the odometer and get it to TRIP A by pressing the TRIP button
- Turn off the car
Once we get to TRIP A now, we want to turn the car off completely
- Hold in the TRIP button as you turn on the ignition
After that, we’re gonna be holding this TRIP button, and then we’re gonna turn the ignition to the second position, which is the ignition on but engine off
- Continue to hold in the TRIP button
Keep holding it, and you’ll those zeros and dots kind of resetting maintenance data with no messages, and you’re done
- Start the car
Now you’re can turn the ignition off, and then let’s turn the car back on to confirm that the maintenance light is off
So that’s how you reset on this car (2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022 model years). As you can see, it’s a very easy job as long as you follow the steps and create a clean working environment. Thanks for reading and I’ll see you at the next one.
What if you don’t have a start button?
I’ve done this to reset mine on my 2018 Toyota c-hr but the check engine light won’t go off. I had it put in the machine and it said the check engine light was on because of my gas cap. Idk what I’m doing wrong at this point.
