Reset Guide: Lexus RX Oil Maintenance Warning Light (2011-2021)

The Lexus RX is an SUV in the Lexus car range. This car produced in multiple series since 1997. So have you changed the oil on your Lexus RX and now want to reset the maintenance warning light?
Whether you own a car or a truck changing engine oil can be very rewarding. It is a relatively simple process where you’re just draining the old oil refilling it, and changing the oil filter, but I know that is easier said than done. So let’s move on to resetting the maintenance system after changing the oil.

Lexus RX Oil Maintenance Warning Light Reset Guide
Warning! Please note your vehicle model. This procedure applies to the third and fourth generations the of Lexus RX (2011 2012 2013 2014 2015 2016 2017 2018 2019 2020 2021 model years).
For 2011-2015 (RX350 RX450H)
The maintenance required light is an indicator that the oil and filter need to be changed. Once that maintenance has been done, you can reset the light with the following procedure:
- Turn on the car
- Push the ODO/TRIP button to cycle it through until the heads-up display is on TRIP A
- Now what you want to do is cycle the ignition switch off
- Hold down the ODO/TRIP button while turn the key on
- Keep press the button until a countdown occur and once the dash has disappear and zeros return to the screen your reset is complete
- Pull the key off and you’re done
For 2016-2021 (RX350 RX450H RX200T)
Time needed: 3 minutes
In this chapter, I will show you how to reset your maintenance required light on your Lexus RX350. This is the 2019 model, but I know it works for 2017, and upper model, the following steps work for that. Okay, so let’s do it.
- Turn on your car without starting the engine
So first step you want to do is press the START button twice but take your foot off the gas pedal
- Highlight the ⚙️ Settings
Scroll to the right using the navigation key until you find ⚙️ Settings
- Find VEHICLE SETTINGS
Then you’re gonna scroll down and keeps going down till you see the Vehicle Settings
- Press center button
Okay, now you’re gonna press the center button on vehicle settings
- Select Schedule Maintenance or Oil Maintenance
Then you’re gonna scroll down again then you’re gonna find Schedule Maintenance or Oil Maintenance and press center button to select
- Select YES
It’s gonna ask you if you want to reset data? Yes I’m gonna want to reset data so I press the center button
You can also reset the maintenance light through the navigation screen. However, when you reset the maintenance item on this screen, it does not reset the maintenance on the cluster screen. So you have to do it both. This side right here is fully customized for you; you can change it however you want it.
- After turn on the car, press MENU to take you to the main menu
- Enter the SETUP menu
- Navigate to the VEHICLE
- Select MAINTENANCE
- Now you can reset whatever needs to be reset in this menu
