Reset Guide: Cadillac Escalade Oil Life Oil Change Light (2007-2021) – The Escalade is a full-size luxury SUV manufactured by Cadillac since 1999. Escalade was moved to the new GMT900 platform for the 2007 model year.

You must perform an oil change on your vehicle and reset the system. Easiest Way
The easiest way to reset the oil life on this vehicle is by depressing the GAS pedal three times within 5 seconds after turning on the ignition without starting the engine.
3rd Generation (2007-2014)
Time needed: 7 minutes
In this third generation you can reset the oil life using the DIC button. Here’s how to do it:
- Turn on the ignition without starting the engine
Make sure the vehicle completely stops
- Press the VEHICLE INFO button briefly until “OIL LIFE REMAINING” appears on the screen
The button is located on the center console
- Press and hold the ✓ button until Oil Life 100% appears on the screen
The CHANGE ENGINE OIL SOON message will go off and the sound of chimes will be heard
- Verify the indicator has been reset by starting the engine

4th Generation (2015-2020)
Unlike the previous generation, in this fourth generation you can reset the oil life using the buttons on the steering wheel. Here’s how to do it:
- Turn on the ignition without starting the engine
- Access the INFORMATION display by using the ◄or► navigation button
- Find the OIL LIFE menu by using the navigation ▲or▼ button
- Press and hold down the SEL button to reset the oil life at 100%
- Verify the indicator has been reset by starting the engine
5th Generation (2021)
In this latest generation, you can access oil life reset via the touchscreen. Here’s how to get started:
- Turn on the ignition without starting the engine
- Press the VEHICLE INFORMATION button located on the center console or in the multifunction screen
- Find the OIL LIFE menu by swipe the screen to scroll the menu
- Tap the screen to select the menu
- Tap RESET to execute the oil life reset
