How to Reset Nissan Rogue Liftgate Trunk Back Door:

Time needed: 3 minutes

If you have any issue with the Liftgate / Trunk Door and want to reset it, you can be set to open to a specific height by performing the following:

  1. Open the liftgate using the switch or the Intelligent Key.

  2. Pull the liftgate down to the desired position and hold the liftgate (the liftgate will have some resistance when being manually adjusted).

  3. While holding the liftgate in position, press and hold the liftgate switch located on the liftgate until 3 beeps are heard.

  4. The liftgate will open to the selected position setting.

  1. my nissan rogue 2017 doesn’t have power lift gate inside the car how can i reset whit fob. i can only open with hand no power lift gate inside

  2. Considering I have basically the same issue as that above ,which hasn’t been answered, I have little hope of a resolution. Just bought 2018 Rogue & had to charge car battery, now smart key fob won’t open the tailgate. Gate responds with opening sounds , then quickly locks back without moving. Have tried all suggestions, incl. holding gate button for 4/5 beeps. Mine only beeps twice no matter how many times I try. I also have no inside panel Off/ON switch/button Trying to read manual (4 books) is ridiculous, considering I’m 72+ and wish I had never got this 2018 Nissan Rogue Sport. Hoping there will be a response.
