2006-2011 Buick Lucerne Oil Life Light Reset Guide – The Lucerne is a full-size passenger car produced by Buick between 2006 to 2011. Introduced at the 2005 Chicago Motor Show, the Lucerne replaced both Park Avenue and LeSabre for the 2006 model year.

When the system has calculated that oil life has exceeded the specified service interval, a CHANGE ENGINE OIL SOON message will come on. You must perform an oil change on your vehicle and reset the system. Here is how to reset the oil life light on Buick Lucerne.

  1. Turn on the ignition without starting the engine

    Make sure the vehicle completely stops

  2. Press the VEHICLE INFO button briefly until “OIL LIFE REMAINING” appears on the screen

  3. Press and hold the ✓ button until Oil Life 100% appears on the screen

    The CHANGE ENGINE OIL SOON message will go off and the sound of chimes will be heard

  4. Verify the indicator has been reset by starting the engine
