When the system has calculated that oil life has exceeded the specified service interval, a CHANGE ENGINE OIL SOON message will come on. You must perform an oil change on your vehicle and reset the system. Depending on your vehicle model, here are a few ways to reset the oil life light on Buick Envision.
1st Generation (2016-2020)
Time needed: 17 minutes
The first generation of Buick Envision was marketed from 2016 to 2020. In this generation you reset the oil life in the following ways:
- Turn the ignition to the ON position without starting the engine
If your car equipped with ignition button, press and hold the Start/Stop button for 5 seconds without touch the brake pedal
- Press the ◄ navigation button to enter the cluster app
The button is located on the steering wheel
- Select INFO
Use the navigation button to scroll and press ✓ to select
- Find the OIL LIFE menu
Use the ▼ navigation button to scroll down
- Press and hold the ✓ button to execute the oil life reset
The CHANGE ENGINE OIL SOON message will go off and the oi life will changes to 100%
- Verify the indicator has been reset by starting the engine

2nd Generation (2021)
The second generation is today’s latest models, this generation was introduced since 2021. In this latest generation, you can reset the oil life by accessing the cluster app. Here’s how to do it:
- Turn on the ignition
- Go to the INFO menu by using the ◄ ►navigation button
- Find the OIL LIFE menu by using the ▲▼ navigation button
- Press and hold the thumbwheel button to execute the oil life reset
