2005 Subaru Legacy Timing Marks Diagram (2.5l EJ25 SOHC Engine) – The Subaru Legacy is a passenger car, available in sedan and station wagon, medium-sized produced by Subaru, a subsidiary of the Japanese automaker Fuji Heavy Industries (FHI). The Legacy is marketed since 1989 around the world with the same name except in Australia where it is known as Subaru Liberty to respect Legacy Australia, an organization that helps veterans and their families during and after wars. According to a press release from Subaru, as of November 2008 have been built 3.6 million copies.

May 23, 2003, Fuji Heavy Industries debuted the new Legacy, known as BL for sedan and station wagon for BP. The line was designed by Greek Andreas Zapatinas, head of the Subaru design from 2002 to 2006. It was marketed around the world as the model year 2004, while in the US the production will start in January 2004 for the US and Canadian markets. The new model is wider than 35 mm, longer than 40 mm, lower than 45 mm and has a wheelbase extended by 20 mm compared to the 3rd Legacy series. Thanks to various clemency to heads, crankshafts, drive shafts supports, pistons, rings, engine hood, and tailgate aluminum weight savings compared to the previous version is around 100 kg. The traditional boxer engine was mounted 22 mm lower and 10 mm backward of the center of gravity and thus improving the weight distribution between the two axles. The chassis has been redesigned and made more rigid. Initially for the European market are proposed, such as engines, a 2000 cc SOHC 137 hp, a 2500 cc SOHC 165 hp and a 3000 cc DOHC AVCS 245 hp. In September of 2005 (the model year 2006) 2000 from 137 hp is replaced by 2000 from 165 hp up to October 2007 (the model year 2008) when it was replaced in 2000 with 150 hp.
