Reset Guide: Volvo XC40 Maintenance Service Light (2018-2021) – The Volvo XC40 is a C-segment SUV that the Swedish manufacturer Volvo began to market at the end of 2017. It is a five-seater with a transverse front-engine that uses the CMA mechanical platform.
The XC40 is Volvo’s third SUV, ranking behind the Volvo XC60 and the Volvo XC90. At its launch, the XC40 is offered with a 2.0-liter 247 hp petrol engine and a 2.0-liter 190 hp diesel. When the Maintenance Overdue message appears in the display, it’s time for regular service at the workshop. The system must be reset after performed the maintenance service on your vehicle. Here is how to reset the maintenance light on 2018 2019 2020 2021 Volvo XC40:
- Turn off the ignition and close all doors
Make sure your vehicle is stopped in a safe place
- Place the ignition to the position I
Press the START/STOP ENGINE button once
- Press and hold the (-) REDUCE SPEED button while starting the engine
Hold down the (-) REDUCE SPEED button on the steering wheel and then press the START/STOP ENGINE button with foot on the brake pedal to start the engine
- Keep holding the (-) REDUCE SPEED button until the ℹ️ indicator blinks
Release the button when the warning light flashes 3 times
- Verify the indicator has been reset by shut off the car and then starting the engine
