How To Reset Subaru Crosstrek Oil Life Maintenance Light (2013-2021) – The Subaru Crosstrek is a crossover produced by the Japanese company Subaru, part of Fuji Heavy Industries (FHI), in production since 2013. It replaces the Subaru Impreza XV presented in 2009.

When the preset maintenance period arrives, a notification screen will be displayed. You must change the corresponding maintenance item’s setting after performing an oil change or maintenance on your vehicle. Depending on your vehicle model, here are a few ways to reset the maintenance light on the 2013 2014 2015 2016 2017 2018 2019 2020 2021 Subaru Crosstrek:

1st Generation (GP)

For this first generation model, you can reset the maintenance light through the multi function display. There are 2 ways to do this, depending on your vehicle model year, here’s how to reset it:

2013-2015 Model Years

Time needed: 7 minutes

Follow these instructions if your vehicle is made in 2013 2014 2015:

  1. Place the ignition to the ON position without starting the engine

    If your vehicle has the keyless starting system, press the ENGINE START/STOP button twice without pressing the brake pedal

  2. Go to the SELECTION screen by using the ▲ or ▼ button

  3. Pull and hold the ⓘ/SET button to enter the menu

    Pull the button for 3 seconds

  4. Select MAINTENANCE

    Use the ▲ or ▼ button to scroll and pull ⓘ/SET to select

  5. Select MAINTENANCE SCHEDULE or ENGINE OIL

    In this menu you can set a maintenance reminder at a specific interval by adjust the Notification Date or Notification Distance

  6. Select SET when you finish setting up

    Done!

2016-2017 Model Years

  • Place the ignition to the ON position without starting the engine
  • Go to the SETTINGS screen by using the ▲ or ▼ button
  • Hold down the ENTER button to enter the menu

  • Select SET when you finish setting up

2nd Generation (GT; 2018-2021)

This is the latest generation of the Subaru Crosstrek. Just like the previous generation, you can set the maintenance minder at a specific interval through multi function display. Here’s how to do it:

  • Place the ignition to the ON position without starting the engine
  • Go to the SELECTION screen by pressing the INFO button repeatedly
  • Pull and hold the ⓘ/SET button to enter the menu

  • Select MAINTENANCE SCHEDULE or ENGINE OIL
  • Select SET when you finish setting up
