How To Reset Maintenance Service Light on Volvo S80 (1999-2016) – The Volvo S80 is a car model built by the car manufacturer Volvo, belonging to Segment E’s segment of luxury sedans. It was only available in sedan, 4-door and five-seater bodywork and was presented in 1998.

In 2006 the second series was presented, destined to remain in production until 2016. In June 2011, the Volvo S80 received minor updates, both aesthetic and technical: Inside, we have now new inserts and a similar dashboard to that of the S60.

How To Reset Maintenance Service Light on Volvo S80 (1999-2016)

When the Maintenance Overdue message appears in the display, it’s time for regular service at the workshop. The system must be reset after performed the maintenance service on your vehicle. Depending on your vehicle model, here are a few ways to reset the maintenance  light on Volvo S80:

1st Generation (1999-2006)

In the first generation of the Volvo S60 (1999 2000 2001 2002 2003 2004 2005 2006), you can reset the service light using the Trip button. Here’s how to do it:

  • Make sure your vehicle is stopped in a safe place
  • Place the ignition to the position I
  • Trip mode needs to be on TRIP 1 or T1
  • Hold down the TRIP button and then place the ignition to the position II
  • Keep holding the TRIP button until the indicator blinks
  • Verify the indicator has been reset by shut off the car and then starting the engine

2nd Generation (2007-2016)

Time needed: 7 minutes

Just like the previous generation, you can reset the service light using the cluster button in this second generation (2007 2008 2009 2010 2011 2012 2013 2014 2015 2016). Follow these steps:

  1. Turn off the ignition and open the driver’s door

    Make sure your vehicle is stopped in a safe place

  2. Place the ignition to the position I

    If your vehicle has the keyless starting system, keep the remote key into the ignition slot, press the START/STOP ENGINE button once

  3. Trip mode needs to be on TRIP 2 or T2

    Press the T2/T1 button on cluster to select the trip mode

  4. Hold down the T2/T1 button and then place the ignition to the position II

    If your vehicle has the keyless starting system, keep press the T2/T1 button while holding the START/STOP ENGINE button for 2 seconds

  5. Keep holding the TRIP button until the ⓘ indicator blinks

    Release the Trip button when the ⓘ indicator flashes 3 times

  6. Verify the indicator has been reset by shut off the car and then starting the engine

    Done!

If T2 doesn’t work, please try T1
