Mazda 3: How To Reset Wrench Light Oil Service Minder (2010-2021) – The Mazda 3 is a middle-class passenger car produced since 2003 by the Japanese manufacturer Mazda. Now in its fourth generation, the car has replaced the Mazda 323. In some Asian countries, the car is sold as Mazda Axela.

When the preset service period arrives the wrench indicator light will appears in the cluster. This indicator system must be reset after performed oil change or maintenance on your vehicle. Depending on your vehicle model, here are a few ways to reset the oil light on 2010 2011 2012 2013 2014 2015 2016 2017 2018 2019 2020 2021 Mazda 3:

2nd Generation (BL; 2010-2013)

Time needed: 7 minutes

In this second generation, you can reset the service interval via the cluster menu. Here’s how to get started:

  1. Place the ignition to the ON position without starting the engine

    If your vehicle has the keyless starting system, press the ENGINE START/STOP button twice without pressing the brake pedal

  2. Go to the SETTINGS menu by pressing the INFO button repeatedly

    The button is located on the steering wheel

  3. Select MAINTENANCE

    Use the ▲▼ navigation button to scroll and press the ENTER button to select the menu

  4. Select SERVICE DUE

    The remaining service interval will appears on the display

  5. Go to reset mode by pressing the ENTER button

    The SET and OFF options will appear

  6. Select SET

    The DISTANCE and DAYS options will appear

  7. You can set an service reminder at a specific interval by adjust DAYS or DISTANCE on this menu

    Select a digit using the ◄ ► navigation button, and use the ▲▼ navigation button to change the digit value. Press the ENTER button to confirm the changes.

3rd Generation (BN; 2014-2018)

In this third generation there are 2 ways to reset the service light. Depending on the type of engine in your vehicle, here’s how to reset the service minder:

With Trip Button

  • Turn OFF the ignition and hold down the TRIP button
  • Turn on the ignition without starting the engine
  • Keep press the TRIP button until master warning light blinks for a few seconds
  • Turn off the ignition
  • Verify the indicator has been reset by starting the engine

With Infotainment Display

  • Turn on the ignition without starting the engine
  • Select the on the screen to display APPLICATION menu
  • Go to VEHICLE STATUS MONITOR
  • Select MAINTENANCE
  • Select OIL CHANGE
  • You can set an engine oil reminder at a specific interval by adjust SETTING INTERVAL or DISTANCE or select RESET on this menu

 Repeat this guide to reset Scheduled or Tire Rotation if needed.

4th Generation (BP; 2019-2021)

This is the latest generation of the Mazda 3. You can set the service minder at a specific interval if your vehicle is equipped with Mazda Connect. Here’s how to do it:

  • Turn on the ignition without starting the engine
  • From the main menu select INFORMATION
  • Select VEHICLE STATUS MONITOR
  • Select VEHICLE MAINTENANCE SETTINGS
  • In this menu, you can set the service reminder at a specific interval by adjust the NEXT SERVICE DATE or NEXT SERVICE DISTANCE or you can also select RESET OIL CHANGE DISTANCE
