When you exceed the next scheduled oil change interval, the Oil Change Required light will display in the screen. This indicator system must be reset after performed the maintenance on your vehicle. The easiest way to reset the oil light on the Jeep Patriot is by pressing the gas pedal. Here’s how to get started:
- Place the ignition to the RUN position without starting the engine
If your vehicle has the keyless starting system, press the ENGINE START/STOP button twice without pressing the brake pedal
- Fully depress the GAS pedal, three times within 10 seconds
Don’t rush, make sure you press it fully
- Turn off the ignition
Press the ENGINE START/STOP button once
- Verify the indicator has been reset by starting the engine
