1st Generation (2008-2012)

Time needed: 7 minutes

The first generation of Ford Kuga was marketed from 2008 to 2012. In this generation you can reset the oil life using the gas and brake pedals. Here’s how to do. it:

  1. Turn on the ignition without starting the engine

    If your vehicle has the keyless starting system, press the ENGINE START/STOP button once without pressing the brake pedal

  2. Depress the Brake and Accelerator pedals at the same time

    Fully press both pedals for about 25 seconds

  3. Keep holding both pedals until a message confirming that the reset is complete appears on the screen

    This message confirms that the reset procedure was completed correctly.

  4. Release the pedals and switch off the ignition

2nd Generation (2013-2018)

The second generation of Ford Kuga was marketed from 2013 to 2018. There are two ways to reset the oil life in this generation. Depending on your vehicle trim level, here are how to reset the engine oil life on the Ford Kuga second generation.

With Steering Control Button

Follow the steps below if your vehicle is equipped with multi-information display and control buttons on the steering wheel.

  • Turn the engine switch to the “ON” position
  • Press the ◄ navigation button to enter the menu tab
  • Find the SETTINGS menu by using the ▲▼ navigation button and press the OK button to select
  • Select VEHICLE SETTINGS
  • Select OIL LIFE RESET
  • Press and holds the OK button until “Reset Successful” appears on the screen

With Brake & Gas Pedal

Just like in the previous generation, in this generation you can reset the oil life using the gas and brake pedals.

Depress the Brake and Accelerator pedals at the same time. Keep holding both pedals until a message confirming that the reset is complete appears on the screen. Release the pedals and switch off the ignition.

3rd Generation (2019-2021)

The third generation is today’s latest models, this generation was introduced since 2019. In this generation you can reset the oil via the information display. Here’s how to reset the engine oil life on the Ford Kuga third generation:

  • Turn the engine switch to the “ON” position
  • Press the menu button to enter the main menu
  • Find the SETTINGS menu by using the ▲▼ navigation button and press the OK button to select
  • Select VEHICLE MAINTENANCE
  • Select OIL LIFE
  • Press and holds the OK button until “Reset Successful” appears on the screen
