Ford E350 E250 E150 Fuel Inertia Switch Location – In 2001, Ford released some E-150 TRAVATOR (Traveler) for North American families as well as some improvements. At the same time, the car name changed from Econoline to E series. Some improvements were made in 2003. The design of the front grille was changed, Ford’s logo mark was attached, and a new engine cover, cup holder, the glove box was equipped.

In March 2007, Ford announced the new E series at the New York Auto Show. The new E-Series vans became a design that resembles the Super Duty Trucks of the 2008 model year. The engine is equipped with the 6.0L diesel turbo in the Super Duty E series, and the newly developed 6.4L twin-turbo diesel engine was mounted on the Super Duty F series.

The fuel pump shut-off (inertia) switch is a device that stops the fuel pump of the fuel delivery to the engine. If your engine cranks but does not start, this switch may have been activated. Here’s how to find and reset the switch:

  1. On the Ford E-350/E-250/E-150, On diesel-powered vehicles, this switch is located in the front passenger’s footwell, by the kick panel. May you need to remove the lower scuff plate to access the switch.

  2. On commercial stripped chassis vehicles, this switch is located on a bracket above the brake pedal. May you need to remove the lower scuff plate to access the switch.

  3. Make sure to turn off your vehicle

  4. Pushing in the Fuel pump shut-off (inertia) switch

  5. Turn the ignition to the ON position (Do not turn the ignition to ‘START) and wait a few seconds and return the key to off position.

  • After replacing a supposed defective fuel pump, vehicle didn't engine didn't run, client not mentioned that the vehicle received an impact by te front passenger side that triggered the inertia switch, after resetting the switch vehicle ran perfectly, lesson always check for heavy impacts on the vehicle or by potholes it might trigger that switch.

    • did you ever find the switch? I have a 2011 thor and have looked everywhere and cannot find the switch. It is not where it is supposed to be it is not my the brake pedal or by the passenger side kick plate,

      • 2024 Ford e350 shuttle bus 5.4 engine the shut off switch is not above the brake pedal or passenger kick panel so where is it?

  • My 06 e250 I changed the fuel filter on it thinking that was the problem it when I shut it off it wouldn't start back it just crank well I noticed then I hook my ob2 scanner to it and it wouldn't read it when normally it would any other time so that's the problem I'll shut it off and then try to restart it it won't start and then at that time the lb2 scanner will not work

  • I have a 2018 Thor Chateau 23U motor home with a Ford 350 series engine. Cannot find the fuel inertia reset button. Is there a computerized method for resetting the shutoff?

    • I am working on a 2012 Ford e-350 and I can't find the fuel pump shut off switch
      I have checked all of the locations shown online and it's not in any of those places. Anyone have any clues? Thanks in advance
