When the system has calculated that oil life has exceeded the specified service interval, a CHANGE ENGINE OIL SOON message will come on. You must perform an oil change on your vehicle and reset the system. Depending on your vehicle model, here are a few ways to reset the oil life light on 2013 2014 2015 2016 Cadillac ELR:
- Turn the ignition to the ON position without starting the engine.
If your car equipped with ignition button, press and hold the Start/Stop button for 5 seconds without touch the brake pedal
- Access the INFORMATION display by using the ◄or► navigation button
The button is located on the steering wheel
- Find the OIL LIFE menu
Use the ▲or▼ navigation button to scroll the menu
- Press and hold the SEL button to execute the oil life reset
The CHANGE ENGINE OIL SOON message will go off and the oi life will changes to 100%
- Verify the indicator has been reset by starting the engine
