2007-2021 Vauxhall Vivaro Oil Service Light Reset Guide – The Opel Vivaro is a commercial car produced by Opel since 2001. The third generation of this vehicle is currently in production. The first two generations collaborated with the Renault group, which oversaw the design and marketed it as Renault Trafic.

The third generation was created in collaboration with the PSA group, which also marketed versions with the Peugeot, Citroën, and even the Toyota brands. Technically, the Vivaro C is based on the same modular EMP2 platform as the other mid-range PSA models.

2007-2021 Vauxhall Vivaro Oil Service Light Reset Guide

When the system has calculated that oil life has exceeded the specified service interval, a warning message will appear in the display. You need perform an oil change reset the system. Depending on your vehicle model, here are a few ways to reset the oil life light on Vauxhall Vivaro:

1st Generation (2007-2013)

There are two ways to reset the oil life on this first generation (2007 2008 2009 2010 2011 2012 2013). Ie using the wiper lever button or the brake and gas pedals. Depending on your vehicle trim level, here’s how to do it:

With Brake & Gas Pedals

  • Turn on the ignition without starting the engine
  • Press and hold the Gas pedal fully down
  • Press the brake pedal 3 times within 5 seconds
  • Press and hold the brake pedal in the third footing
  • Keep press both pedals until the new service interval displayed
  • Release both pedals
  • Finally, verify the indicator has been reset by starting the engine

With Wiper Lever

  • Turn on the ignition without starting the engine
  • Press the button on the end of the wiper lever briefly until the service interval appears on the screen
  • Press and hold the button until the new service interval is displayed
  • Release the button
  • Verify the indicator has been reset by starting the engine

2nd Generation (2014-2018)

The second generation of the Vauxhall Vivaro (2014 2015 2016 2017 2018) is based on Renault Trafic. In this generation, you can reset the service light using the button on the wiper lever.

  • Turn on the ignition without starting the engine
  • Press the ▲ or ▼ button on the end of the wiper lever briefly until the service interval appears on the screen
  • Press and hold the ▲ or ▼ button until the distance before service is displayed
  • Release the button
  • Next, hold down the button again until the new service interval stop flashing
  • Verify the indicator has been reset by starting the engine

3rd Generation (2019-2021)

Time needed: 3 minutes

The latest generation or third generation of this Combo (2019 2020 2021) is based on the Citroën SpaceTourer. In this generation you can reset the service light using the CHECK button on the cluster. Here’s how to do it:

  1. Place the ignition to the off position

    Make sure your vehicle is stopped in a safe place

  2. Press and hold the CHECK or ? SET button

    The button is located on the cluster

  3. Turn on the ignition without starting the engine

    If your car equipped with ignition button, press and hold the Start/Stop button for 5 seconds without touch the brake pedal

  4. Keep press the CHECK or ? SET button until it counts to 0

    Release the button when the new service interval appears on the screen

  5. Verify the indicator has been reset by starting the engine

    Done!
