Vauxhall Astra: How To Reset Service Light After Oil Change (2010-2021) – The Vauxhall Astra is a mid-range car produced by Vauxhall, the British subsidiary of Adam Opel AG, in its range of small family cars since 1979.

Vauxhall Astra: How To Reset Service Light After Oil Change (2010-2021)

When the system has calculated that oil life has exceeded the specified service interval, a warning message will appear in the display. You need perform an oil change reset the system. Depending on your vehicle model, here are a few ways to reset the oil life light on Vauxhall Astra:

6th Generation (2010-2015)

Time needed: 7 minutes

For the sixth generation (2010 2011 2012 2013 2014 2015), you can reset the oil life using the button on the turn signal lever. Follow these steps:

  1. Turn on the ignition without starting the engine

    If your car equipped with ignition button, press and hold the Start/Stop button for 5 seconds without touch the brake pedal

  2. Press the MENU button briefly until VEHICLE INFORMATION MENU appears on the screen

    The button is located on the turn signal lever

  3. Scroll down and find OIL LIFE menu

    Use the band to scroll through the menu

  4. Press and hold the SET/CLR button until Oil Life 100% appears on the screen

    The sound of chimes will be heard

  5. Verify the indicator has been reset by starting the engine

    Done!

7th Generation (2016-2021)

There are two ways to reset the oil life on this seventh generation (2016 2017 2018 2019 2020 2021). Ie using the turn signal lever or a button on the steering wheel. Depending on your vehicle trim level, here’s how to do it:

With Turn Signal Lever

  • Turn on the ignition without starting the engine
  • Highlight the VEHICLE tab menu by pressing the MENU button on the turn signal lever
  • Scroll down and find OIL LIFE menu by using the band
  • Press and hold the SET/CLR button until Oil Life 100% appears on the screen
  • Verify the indicator has been reset by starting the engine

With Steering Wheel

  • Turn on the ignition without starting the engine
  • Go to the cluster menu by pressing the ◄ button
  • Select the INFO by pressing the ✓ button
  • Find the REMAINING OIL LIFE menu by using the ▼ button
  • Press the ► button to open the sub-menu
  • Select RESET to execute the oil life reset
