Whaddup bro? Today, I will be showing you how to reset the service or inspection light on a Volkswagen Touareg. First, a bit of my car, I just picked this up at the end of February 2020. It’s a Volkswagen Touareg, and it was a leftover from the 2019 model year. Recently the dash started popping up with the notification saying that it’s due for an oil change despite only having 4600 miles.
By the way, what I need to tell you is with synthetic oil, you can go up to ten thousand miles, but I don’t recommend it. I want to go as far as five thousand if you’re going to keep your engine nice and healthy. But the Volkswagen says it’s okay to use the premium synthetic oil to go up to ten thousand miles, but guess what I don’t recommend, especially if you have a German car because it’s expensive to repair. So let’s go-ahead to reset the service minder.

Warning! Please note your vehicle model. This procedure applies to the first, second and third generations of the Volkswagen Touareg (2006 2007 2008 2009 2010 2011 2012 2013 2014 2015 2016 2017 2018 2019 2020 2021 model years).
It’s pretty easy to reset the service interval on a Volkswagen Touareg 7P. We can reset it via the infotainment display. So here’s how it’s done!
Time needed: 3 minutes
On the Volkswagen Touareg CR models you’re going to have two different types of oil notifications. One of them is going to be a service interval light and the other one is going to be an inspection light. So let’s get into it now.
Turn the car all the way on and so the lights are on
Then we have to use the ◄ or ► button on right side of the steering wheel to scroll over the menu and find the DRIVING DATA
Scroll down to RANGE and hit OK
Once we reached the RANGE screen we need to hold the OK button for 5 seconds
After that let go the button and you’ll see the SERVICE MENU
Now you can select RESET OIL SERVICE or RESET INSPECTION from this menu
So yeah, that’s about it, guys. I’ve done the service, and I’ve reset the service light. So that’s you’re done by yourself, now you might be wondering why would I do it myself when it doesn’t cost all that much air a mechanic or a shop, that may be true, but I mean it’s about the joy of doing it yourself and you still saving money. Anyway, thanks very much for reading, and have a good day.
