With Dash Button

  • Turn car completely off
  • Then hold down the 0.0 button on the dash while turning the ignition to the on switch but dude don’t crank the motor

With Steering Control

Time needed: 3 minutes

If you want to do the oil service reset on your Volkswagen Passat, here we go. I’ll show you how to do it. I assume that your car is equipped with a steering control to access the menu on the dash. So the first thing you want to do is:

  1. Turn on the car

Turn the key forward without starting the car

  2. Go to the SETTINGS

Use the controls on the right side of the steering wheel to display the Settings menu

  3. Find and select SERVICE

Use the ▼ arrow buttons to scroll down to the Service option and then press ok to select

  4. Select RESET

Use the ▼ arrows again to scroll to the Reset option and then press ok to confirm the reset

  5. Select OK

To confirm the reset press the ok button again

With Wiper Lever

  • Turn the car on
  • Now all you have to do is press down the TRIP button to get in the main menu
  • Once you got there scroll down to SETUP or SETTINGS
  • Go ahead with hit OK to enter the menu
  • Select RESET and then OK to confirm

Passat B8 (2014-2020)

In this chapter I’m gonna show you guys how to reset the service light and also the inspection light with two different things and a way to reset them both.

Oil Service Reset

With Cluster Button
  • Turn off the car
  • Now you’re going to hold the 0.0/SET button and then turn the key to the on position
  • After that let go of the 0.0/SET button and then hold the ❏ button (left button) so that will reset your service interval
With Steering Control
  • Switch off the car
  • Press and hold the 0.0/SET button on the dash while you turn on the key with engine off
  • Once it turned on you should see the confirmation message. Just hit OK on the right-hand side of the steering wheel to execute the service reset

Inspection Light Reset

With Cluster Button
  • First, turn off your car
  • Then turn on the emergency flashlight
  • The next step is turn on your car while you’re holding the 0.0/SET button
  • Once you do that release the 0.0/SET button and come over to the left real quick and push the ❏ button to reset the inspection
With Steering Control
  • With the engine off, turn on the emergency flashlight
  • Then you will have to turn the ignition on while holding the 0.0/SET button
  • Next, once it asks you that question about resetting it you can press the OK button on the steering wheel to confirm
  • Now you can turn off the emergency flashlight and start up you car

So that’s pretty much it; that’s how you do it, as you can see, straightforward folks—no more inspection or service light. Thus, that’s it for my content; if you have any questions, leave a comment below. This is mainly for cars on 2010 and higher model, so what swag inside. All right, I hope you learned something; take care, and God bless you.
