How To Reset Lincoln Aviator TPMS Tire Pressure Sensor Using Magnet

How To Reset Lincoln Aviator TPMS Tire Pressure Sensor Using Magnet – The Lincoln Aviator is a five-door luxury mid-size SUV produced by Lincoln from 2002 to 2005. The model was exclusively produced in Hazelwood, Missouri. The direct competitors of the Aviator were the Lexus GX and the Cadillac SRX. The Aviator was available in both rear-wheel-drive version and a four-wheel-drive version.

The model was very similar to the full-size SUV Lincoln Navigator. In addition, the Aviator was similar to the Ford Explorer, with which it shared the platform, the Ford U1 platform. In addition to this, the Aviator and the Explorer shared the price range even though the Lincoln model was marketed for the middle class and the Ford SUV for the middle class. The only engine available was a 4.6-liter V8 bi-axle V8 that came from a similar engine mounted on the Ford Mustang. The version mounted on the Aviator produced 302 hp of power.

How To Reset Lincoln Aviator TPMS Tire Pressure Sensor Using Magnet

If you receive a low-tire-pressure monitoring system (TPMS) warning light while driving and you want to clear or turning off the warning light on your 2003 2004 2005 Lincoln Aviator, follow these instructions:

  • Make sure the vehicle is at a complete stop
  • Turn the engine switch off
  • Adjust the tire inflation pressure recommended on the tire placard located on the door panel.
  • Driving for a few miles (kilometers), calibration will complete after 2 minutes of cumulative driving at 20 mph (32 km/h).

Time needed: 7 minutes

If you replaced a wheel, tire, TPMS sensor, etc. and are now getting a warning light on your car, then the sensor needs to be reset. For that, you do not need to purchase the TPMS reset tool but you need a circular magnet and follow these instructions:

  1. Stop the vehicle in a safe place and turn the engine switch off and engage the parking brake.

  2. Press and release the brake pedal.

  3. Turn the ignition from OFF to ON position three (3) times ending in the on position without starting the engine.

  4. Press the brake pedal again for 2 seconds, then release.

  5. Turn the ignition to OFF position (DO NOT remove the key)

  6. Turn the ignition from OFF to ON position three (3) times ending in the on position without starting the engine.

  7. If the reset mode has been entered successfully, the horn will sound once.

  8. Starting from the driver’s side front tire, place the circle magnet against the tire sidewall, near the valve stem until horn sounds

  9. Repeat the procedure on the right-front tire, the right rear tire, and the last one left rear tire.

  10. A horn chirp confirms that the sensor identification code has been matched to this tire and wheel position.

  11. After hearing the confirming horn chirp for the left rear tire, training is completed and a message is shown in the information display. Turn ignition to OFF position. Adjust all tires to pressure listed on the tire placard.
