How To Reset Service Light on Audi R8 After Oil Change (2006-2021) – The R8 is a sports car produced by the German car manufacturer Audi. Audi produced the first generation (Tipo 42) from 2007 to 2015, while the second generation (Tipo 4S) was produced from 2016.

The R8 is a dry 2-seater coupe with the longitudinal engine arranged behind the passenger compartment and in front of the rear (center) axle. At launch, the only powertrain available was the petrol 4.2 FSI V8 already used by the RS4.

The inspection or service reminder message will appears in the display after driving a certain distance. You need perform an oil change and reset the system interval. Depending on your vehicle model, here are a few ways to reset the service light on Audi R8:

1st Generation (2006-2015)

Time needed: 7 minutes

In the 2006 2007 2008 2009 2010 2011 2012 2013 2014 2015 Audi R8 model years, you can reset the service interval through the cluster display. Here’s how to do it:

  1. Place the ignition to the ON position without starting the engine

    If your vehicle has the keyless starting system, press the ENGINE START/STOP button without pressing the brake pedal

  2. Pull the knob once to enter the reset mode

    The button is located on the instrument cluster

  3. Pull and hold the knob until —- appears on the screen

    Pull up the knob for several seconds

  4. Verify the indicator has been reset by starting the engine

    Done!

2nd Generation (2016-2021)

Unlike the previous generation, you can reset the service interval via multimedia display (MMI) in this second generation (2016 2017 2018 2019 2020 2021). Here’s how to get started:

  • Turn on the ignition without starting the engine
  • Press the MENU button on the centre console
  • Select VEHICLE by using the dial control
  • Press the left control button
  • Select SERVICE & CHECKS
  • Select SERVICE INTERVAL
  • Select RESET OIL CHANGE INTERVAL
  • Select YES to execute the service interval reset
