Reset Guide: Mazda 6 Oil Light Maintenance Service Minder (2014-2021) – The Mazda 6 is a sedan car produced by the Japanese car manufacturer Mazda since 2002. Sold as Mazda Atenza in Asian markets, the automobile replaced the Mazda 626. In 2012, the third generation arrived.

The third generation of Mazda 6 was officially presented in August 2012 at the Moscow International Auto Show. In this generation, the 5-door sedan configuration is no longer available, while the 4-door and the Station wagon configuration remain available.

When the preset service period arrives the wrench indicator light will appears in the cluster. This indicator system must be reset after performed oil change or maintenance on your vehicle. Depending on your vehicle model, here are a few ways to reset the oil light on 2014 2015 2016 2017 2018 2019 2020 2021 Mazda 6:

With Cluster Display

Time needed: 7 minutes

In this third generation, you can reset the service interval through the cluster menu. Here’s how to get started:

  1. Place the ignition to the ON position without starting the engine

    If your vehicle has the keyless starting system, press the ENGINE START/STOP button twice without pressing the brake pedal

  2. Go to the SETTINGS menu by using the ▲▼ button and press the INFO button to enter the menu

    The button is located on the steering wheel

  3. Select MAINTENANCE

    Use the ▲▼ navigation button to scroll and press the INFO button to select the menu

  4. Select SCHEDULED

    There are several menu options here such as Tire Rotation, Tire Pressure, and Oil Change.

  5. You can set an service reminder at a specific interval by adjust SET TIME or SET DISTANCE on this menu

    Select a digit using the ▲▼ button to change the digit value. Press the ENTER button to confirm the changes.

With Infotainment Display

In addition through the cluster, you can also reset the maintenance minder via the infotainment display. Here’s how to get started:

  • Turn on the ignition without starting the engine
  • Select the on the screen to display APPLICATION menu
  • Go to VEHICLE STATUS MONITOR
  • Select MAINTENANCE
  • Select OIL CHANGE
  • You can set an engine oil reminder at a specific interval by adjust SETTING INTERVAL or DISTANCE or select RESET on this menu

 Repeat this guide to reset Scheduled or Tire Rotation if needed.
