7th Generation B17 (2016-2019)

Time needed: 7 minutes

The seventh generation of Nissan Sentra was marketed from 2012 to 2019. Starting from the 2016 models, you can reset the oil light using the steering control. Here is how to do it:

  1. Turn on the ignition without starting the engine

    If your vehicle has the keyless starting system, press the ENGINE START STOP button two times without depressing the brake pedal

  2. Go to SETTINGS menu by pressing the ❏ button repeatedly

    The button is located on the steering wheel

  3. In the setting menu select MAINTENANCE

    Use the joystick to scroll and press the ENTER button to select the menu

  4. Select OIL AND FILTER

    Press the ENTER button to select the menu

  5. Select RESET

    You can select reset or set the distance for service interval on this menu

  6. When a confirmation message appear, select YES to confirm

    Done!

8th Generation B18 (2020-2021)

The second generation is today’s latest models, this generation was introduced since 2020. Here’s how to reset the maintenance oil light on the latest generation of Nissan Sentra:

  • Press the ENGINE START STOP button once without depressing the brake pedal
  • Go to the ⚙️ SETTINGS menu by using the ◄ ► navigation button
  • Scroll down to the MAINTENANCE by using the ▲▼ navigation button and press OK button to enter
  • Select OIL CONTROL SYSTEM
  • You can set an engine oil reminder at a specific interval or select RESET on this menu
  • When a confirmation message appears, select YES to execute the oil reset
