How to Reset Chevy Bolt TPMS Tire Pressure Sensor Light (2017-2020) – The Chevrolet Bolt is an electric car from the US automotive manufacturer Chevrolet, which was introduced to the public in January 2016 and has been produced in the United States since the beginning of November 2016. The vehicle will be built and marketed in Europe by Opel under the name Ampera-e. Both variants are distinguishable despite the name similarity of Chevrolet Volt resp. The original Opel Ampera, which is based on the Voltec drive technology like electric vehicles with range extensions.

The electric car was presented as a concept at the Detroit Auto Show 2015. The basic data of the serial vehicle was presented at the same event one year later. At the CES 2016, the production model was presented by CEO Mary Barra. Production started in early November 2016. The Chevrolet Bolt is designed as a compact vehicle. The large space supply is achieved by accommodating the energy storage system on the vehicle floor (as in the case of the Tesla Model S).

How to Reset Chevy Bolt TPMS Tire Pressure Sensor Light (2017-2020):

If you receive a low-tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) warning light while driving and you want to clear or turning off the warning light on your 2017 Chevy Bolt, follow these instructions:

  • Make sure the vehicle is at a complete stop
  • Turn the engine switch off
  • Adjust the tire inflation pressure recommended on the tire placard located on the door panel.
  • Driving for a few miles (kilometers), calibration will complete after 2 minutes of cumulative driving at 20 mph (32 km/h).

Time needed: 7 minutes

If you replaced a wheel, tire, TPMS sensor, etc. and are now getting a warning light on your car, then the sensor needs to be reset. To relearn or reset the Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) sensor on your 2017 2018 2019 2020 Chevy Bolt you must have a TPMS relearn tool and follow these steps:

  1. Turn the ignition to the ON position without starting the engine.

  2. Press the DIC MENU button on the right side of the steering wheel

  3. Select “Tire Pressure Menu”

  4. When a message requesting acceptance of the process appears, press and hold the Check button in the center of the DIC controls again to confirm.

  5. The horn sounds twice to signal the receiver is in relearn mode

  6. Starting from the driver’s side front tire, place the relearn tool against the tire sidewall, near the valve stem. Then press the button to activate the TPMS sensor.

  7. Repeat the procedure on the right-front tire, the right rear tire, and the last one left rear tire.

  8. A horn chirp confirms that the sensor identification code has been matched to this tire and wheel position.

  9. Turn the ignition off and start the engine to verify the indicator has been reset.
