2006 Land Rover Freelander Camshaft Drive Belt Diagram (KV6 Engine) – Land Rover Freelander was introduced for the first time in late 1997. However, market research conducted by the Rover Group has been made since the late 1980s. In early 1990, Rover Group seeking partners to enter the compact SUV segment, and finally along with Honda. However, Japanese manufacturers apparently prefer to build their own model and introducing the CR-V in 1997.
When BMW took over Rover Group in 1994, they decided to continue the development of the concept car that was delayed. After going through a long process, finally, Freelander was introduced to the public in 1997 and managed to snatch the title as a four-wheel vehicle model in Europe to 2002. Production of the first generation of Freelander expires at the end of 2006. The second-generation Freelander was introduced at the British International Auto Show 2006. Land Rover has decided to discontinue production of the Freelander since 2014 so that now all that remains is its used cars.
