If you receive a low-tire-pressure monitoring system (TPMS) warning light while driving and you want to clear or turning off the warning light on your Cadillac XT5, follow these instructions:

  • Make sure the vehicle is at a complete stop
  • Turn the engine switch off
  • Adjust the tire inflation pressure recommended on the tire placard located on the door panel.
  • Driving for a few miles (kilometers), calibration will complete after 2 minutes of cumulative driving at 20 mph (32 km/h).

If you replaced a wheel, tire, TPMS sensor, etc. and are now getting a warning light on your car, then the sensor needs to be reset. To relearn turning off or reset the Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) light on your Cadillac XT5, follow these steps:

  1. Stop the vehicle in a safe place and turn the engine switch off and engage the parking brake.

  2. Place the vehicle in Service Mode by pressing and holding ENGINE START/STOP for more than five seconds

  3. Press the SEL button to enter the Settings page

  4. Scroll down to INFO menu and press SEL button to select it

  5. Scroll to the TIRE PRESSURE screen

  6. Press and hold the SEL button until horn sounds

  7. Starting from the driver's side front tire, place the TPMS RELEARN TOOL against the tire sidewall, near the valve stem. Then press the button to activate the TPMS sensor until hearing the confirming horn chirp.

  8. Repeat the procedure on the right-front tire, the right rear tire, and the last one left rear tire.

  9. After hearing the confirming horn chirp for the left rear tire, turn the ignition to the OFF position. Adjust all tires to pressure listed on the tire placard.

  1. I have an2017 deluxe model and I change the wheels with 20 inches with brand new Gm tpms sensors.

    I Follow the above steps and to active the tire pressure screen I need to have the engine running since I have no screen once the car ignition is off.

    Event with the ignition is on ( engine running) I am not able to re set re active all four tpms sensors

    Please advise?

    Please advise if or not I need to have the ignition on ?
